about
“We must vacate the here and now for a then and there. Individual transports are insufficient. We need to engage in a collective temporal distortion. We need to step out of the rigid conceptualization that is a straight present."
- from "Cruising Utopia: The Then and There of Queer Futurity" by José Esteban Muñoz
This iteration of upon the horizon, a space of unknowing is for two contrabass clarinets, fixed media, and sonic objects that are part of an ongoing series of new semi-improvisational works reliant on multiple forms of exchange. This work, as an ephemeral articulation, links the breath, sensibilities of queer(ed) time, and the notion of the horizon as aspirational sites of being.
