about

These seven works demonstrate the limits of the body in relationship to the instrument, creating polyphonic textures and layers that feature shocking collisions between breath, instrument, and the body. Influenced largely by the vernaculars of "new complexity" (a musical style that explores the possibilities of fracturing between different musical parameters, often defamiliarising aspects of traditional performance practice), these works move towards the obfuscation of spoken clarity and ponder the inabilities of spoken communication.
